< Commands Tab

The ribbon tab helps you see a preview of what the user will and managing see the commands of a form.

Creating the ribbon

In the Form ribbons grid you need to click on “New Ribbon” and complete the Name column with the name of the window; the Context column will be completed only if you want to show a different ribbon for a certain context, in the other case, if you have an entry in the grid from General tab with a context, and you don’t create a Form ribbon with the same context, the one without a context will be used as default. To validate the row, click on a Column or on another row, then save.

In the Ribbon Details, under the ribbon, in the left side, a row will appear. It will show Title (Ribbon). Right click on the ribbon and click on New Tab; select the newly created row, under ribbon and complete in the right side the Name field with an entry from the dictionary; this will create a tab with the name you selected; press Save Ribbon and then Save from the Arm main ribbon in order to save your progress.

Creating Groups, using Templates

The templates are the ones shown in the Active Ribbon Templates grid. These templates are used when you wish your form to have the basic functionality; you chose the templates as they are fit (ex: if your data will be printable, you should use the Print template). In order to use one of the templates, you have to click on the row, in the   IsActive column, and check the checkbox. If you want your templates to be displayed in a certain order, in the Order column, write a number; templates will be displayed in an ascending order, starting from 0. To save the changes press Save.

If you are using templates, you won’t be able to add custom buttons into the groups that the template created automatically. If you want this feature, you have to create a new group, with the same name as the template would create, save your changes and then add the template.

To create a group, right click on the Title (Tab) row and click on Add Group. In the right side, complete the Name field with the group name, and select an Icon. Save your changes by pressing Save.

Creating custom buttons

After you have a group, you can create custom buttons, providing that you already have a command created in the Commands tab.

To create a new button, right click on the Title(Group) row and select New Button. Select the button and in the right side, in the General tab, complete the Button properties. Command type will be Form; in the Form Command field, choose the command you created in the Commands tab, if the command doesn’t appear, refresh the forms window; in the Image field select the image you want for you button; in the Size field select Large if you want your button image to be large and with name, Medium if you want your button image to be small and with name and Small if you want your button to have only an image. You can also create StackPanels and create buttons underneath it; we use the Medium size for the images of the buttons in a stackpanel.
